Electronic Instrument Trades Worker – Auto Door Service Technician

Job Description

Auto Ingress automatic doors is widely accepted as a leading brand in the Australian Market. Our Brisbane based factory manufactures and supplies to the Australian market through its sales offices in four major states plus a network of service agents and distributors.

As part of our expansion we are seeking Automatic Door Technicians for our Brisbane office. The successful applicant will report to the service manager, and your primary role would be to install, commission and service our own brand plus other brands of automatic door operators.

Duties will include

To assemble automatic door operators and related components.
Read and analyse wiring diagrams and related specifications.
Use test equipment to test continuity and diagnose electrical faults including electronic faults on peripherals.
To read and follow drawings to install and commission our range of automatic doors and program the controller to suit the required application .
Install new and replace faulty wiring to sensors witches and connecting to general power supply.
To maintain and repair Automatic Doors, Roller Doors, Gates including replacing faulty parts and recommend any changes and improvements.
Advice customers of correct use of our operators and recommend any upgrades and additional repairs that may be required from time to time and coordinate any quoted works.
To carry out and generally assist in various work as required of and expected of a service technician.
To be available for overtime work on request and scheduled after hours work.
To maintain a clean and tidy vehicle and manage your tools and stock as per the list provided.

While training will be provided, technicians with experience in similar or the same field would be best suited for this role.

Some overtime work is expected, and you will also share afterhours work with the other technicians on a rostered cycle.

Candidates with experience in automatic doors, gates and roller doors and/or related industries along with electrical accreditation should apply.

Having NetSuite and Next Service or Field Service App experience will be an advantage

Mechanical Engineering Technician – Automatic Door Systems

AUTO INGRESS PTY LTD is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Brisbane-based manufacturing and technical team.

Auto Ingress Automatic Doors is recognised as a leading supplier of automated door systems in Australia. Our Brisbane factory manufactures and distributes automatic door solutions nationwide through offices across four major states and a network of service agents and distributors.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the design, production and maintenance of automated door systems and related mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will report directly to the Factory Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Assist engineers with the preparation of documentation related to automatic door systems and mechanical components.
Support the design and improvement of mechanical assemblies and automated door mechanisms used in manufacturing and installation processes.
Select appropriate tools, materials and equipment required for fabrication, installation and servicing tasks.
Assist with the assembly, installation and adjustment of mechanical components, machine parts and control systems used in automated door equipment.
Estimate material quantities, equipment requirements and assist with production planning.
Conduct testing and performance checks on mechanical components and automated door systems.
Collect and analyse operational data to support engineering improvements and prepare technical reports and diagrams.
Assist in coordinating inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance of production machinery and mechanical systems.
Ensure all mechanical work complies with relevant technical specifications, safety regulations and quality standards.

Requirements

Qualification in Mechanical Engineering field.
Experience working with mechanical systems, automated equipment or industrial machinery.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support engineering and operational improvements.
Experience using technical or operational systems such as ERP, reporting tools or maintenance tracking platforms will be highly regarded.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians and operational teams.

Employment Details

Position: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Brisbane, QLD
Salary: $70,000 – $77,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
